Battlefield 3 opens beta access on September 29th

Without a doubt, Battlefield 3 is one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year for PC gamers. That’s saying something given how packed this already great year is with major upcoming titles. If you weren’t one of the lucky people to get into the alpha testing of the game, but have been wanting to give it a shot before the release date, you’re about to have that chance. The open beta will begin on September 29th, with a brief closed beta beginning on the 27th.

According to EA, the beta will feature the Rush game mode on the Operation Metro map. Gamers will be able to enjoy the map for the duration of the test once it is up for download. Additionally, anyone who has preordered the game through EA’s Origin service, or who has the special edition version of Medal of Honor, should receive an e-mail informing them that they’ll be able to access the closed beta phase.
